From the Desk of Will and Trust Attorney, San Diego, Kristina R. Hess:
Everyone needs some legal planning. Yes, even your San Diego college students, could benefit from having an Advance Health Care Directive and a Power of Attorney.
Once you are 18 and you are an adult, you cannot make medical decisions for your children, access their accounts, or speak with their doctors without authorization (more on this in a subsequent post).
And, every adult needs the following Five Legal Documents:
1. Living Trust
2. Pour Over Will
3. Durable Financial Power of Attorney
4. Advance Health Care Directive
5. HIPAA Authorization
I explain each of these in this Periscope… and there is also some inspiration in there for you too…. You are more powerful than you think.
Choose to get your legal house in order and make sure you are taken care of in the event of incapacity or death.
Check out this short recorded scope: 5 Legal Docs Everyone Needs.
Happy planning, you amazing, responsible San Diego people!
